June, 2014 — Beit Sahour is located in Palestine, just east of Bethlehem. According to Tradition, the Monastery at the Shepherds Field is the spot where the “Shepherds kept watch” (Luke 2: 18-20), on the night that Christ was born, and heard the angelic proclamation “Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will toward men” (Lk. 2: 14). The site is also well known for its ancient Olive trees that date over 2000 years; tradition holds that two of these trees mark the location where Kind David wrote many of his Psalms.
